Last Weekend’s Event
We’ve got another week of 40k events to go through (although we have 100% AoS events next week) so lets get to it.
Palladium Games February 40k RTT
First up is an RTT out of PA hosted by Palladium Games. The event was won by Justin Cook and their T’au. It’s a tiptide list with no battle suits focussing on having a durable midboard in the form of the riptides and a couple devilfish missiles full of breachers. Looks like a pretty mean list.
- Justin Cook (Death or Glory) – T’au
- Michael Butler (Art of War) – Aeldari
- Cory White – Chaos Daemons
Five Star Games 40k RTT
Next, we have another 40k RTT. The winning list was Benjamin Rubenstein’s Dark Angels, a Dark Angels list (it was in ironstorm but they brought azrael) featuring three repulsor executioners. The more surprising thing here though is absolutely no Lancers either, just pure repexes.
- Benjamin Rubenstein (Battle for Salvation) – Dark Angels
- Sean Keaveny (Death or Glory) – Adeptus Mechanicus
- Kevin Ebner (Goats in Trees) – Dark Angels
TJ Cafe & Games February 17 40K Tournament
I’m gonna level with you guys, I really only like Chaos factions in 40k. They tend to have the coolest units and align closely with how I like to play the game. My bias often shows through, especially when elves win events and I will never apologize for that. Sometimes though, there are trends in other factions that spark joy and this is one of those times. This event was won by Bradley Flagg and their Grey Knights list featuring 780 points of dreadknights (one grandmaster and 3 normal ones). This rules incredibly hard and you love to see it. Hopefully we see more of this and less elves (I know they’re on the downtrend but I want them gone)
- Bradley Flag (Gardner Game Knights) – Grey Knights
- Cullen Burns (US Army Espors) – Astra Militarum
- Matthew Wood (Royal Canadian Space Force) – Adeptus Custodes
Battle to End Alzheimers Nutcracker RTT
Next up is a small RTT as an appetizer for the main event GT that happened the same weekend. This was a charity event whose proceeds went to Alzheimers research. The event featured some special rules such as allowing legends units, donating set the number of CP you generated, and you could use the same stratagem more than once per phase (but not on the same unit). The event was won by Michael Aigner’s Necrons, a Canoptek Court list with 3 C’tans and 3×6 Wraiths.
- Michael Aigner (Legion of Extraordinary Gentlemen) – Necrons
- Will Snead (PathofWar.co) – Tyranids
- Michael Black (Filthy Opossums) – Chaos Knights
Battle To End Alzheimers 2024
Closing us out with our main event we have our GT for the weekend, again supporting Alzheimers research. These events are one of the best parts of the community, folks coming together to share a hobby while supporting a good cause. The event was won by Jeffery Kolodner’s Sisters featuring a whole bunch of paragon warsuits.
- Jeffrey Kolodner – Adepta Sororitas
- Zach Point (Victory Gamers) – Ynnari
- Joshua Campbell (Terran Battle Friends) – Necrons
