The past weekend was a warm one in the UK, where a hundred participants took cover from the sun’s harsh rays to take part in the Goonhammer Open, which was split into two main events:
- A joint Horus Heresy and Adeptus Titanicus narrative event, featuring some of the best painted armies out there on some amazing boards, dictating the outcome of the Exacris campaign. A full write up of the mayhem will follow the later this week, so keep your eyes out.
- Our first UK Killteam tournament, this event was a World Championships of Warhammer qualifier event and saw players travel great distances to compete.

Before we get to the results, this event would not be possible if it were not for the assistance and support of many different people.
- Bandua Wargaming, whose terrain set the scene in both events, from the void ships of the of the Adeptus Astartes to the battlefields of the Kill Team event – featuring the newly released WTC Kill Team terrain which we reviewed here.

- The staff at the De Montfort Student Union for making the event as smooth as possible.
- Most importantly all of our volunteers and staff who helped setup and pack up – an under-appreciated but absolutely vital component of any event. Particular thanks to Toby and Dan who assisted with logistics in addition to everything else they did.

I’m not going to spoil the outcome of the campaign ahead of the write up later this week, although safe to say it didn’t end well for the people who lived there. It did end well for our winners though!
