If you’re in the UK or the US, we have exciting news for you – the Goonhammer Open is coming!
We’re starting our first events as tournaments for Warhammer 40,000, though if these go well we’ll be looking at running future events with more game systems.
In the United States, the tournament will be held in the Baltimore area, with a maximum of 64 players. We’ll be holding this on the 25th-26th July, playing 5 rounds at 2,000 points using the NOVA Open missions. Goonhammer contributor Shane Watts will be taking the lead, ably assisted by some of our other authors, and we hope we’ll see you there.
In the UK, the event will be held in the south of England, and the player numbers are “as large as possible” – we’d love to bring another major to the UK scene! This one is planned for the 19th and 20th of September, and will similarly be 2,000 points using the NOVA Open missions. This one will be run by Goonhammer’s very own editor in chief Liam Royle, TO at Black Heart Wargaming, along with James Grover and a capable team of judges.
We’ll have more details for you as they develop, but for now we wanted to let you know about this exciting development in what Goonhammer can offer to the 40k community, and we hope to see you at one of our events soon!
