The Best Year in Gaming: 2005 vs. 2019

Welcome back to our Best Year in Gaming March Madness bracket competition! Yesterday we saw looked at 1981 vs. 1993 and while 1981 put up a hell of a fight, it’s hard to argue with the debut of Magic: the Gathering and some of the best games of the 16-bit era.

Result: 1993 Wins

Today we’re closing out the first round of our competition by looking at the final matchup of the Northwest conference – 2005 vs. 2019.

VS.

This is an interesting one – 2005 has one of the best games of all time – Resident Evil 4 is a particular standout – but it’s largely regarded as a very weak year for games, with not much depth. By comparison, 2019 is stacked with some phenomenal PC and indie games, and might make short work of 2005 as a result, particularly as it hosts the PS4’s strongest games.
