Hey Casual Gamers!
Our narrative supplement book is firmly here, and I’ve had time to sit with it and get involved in a campaign. Since narrative exists as an extra set of rules layered over the base game, it can be overwhelming to get into the weeds on this supplement, but I think it’s absolutely worth it. The rules are fairly well thought out, and the book succeeds in creating the “vibes first” rulemaking that many folks love in their favorite indie games.
My channel has traditionally been a competitive Warcry channel, but don’t worry, when I say I’ve produced a narrative strategy guide, I’m not focusing on smashing your poor innocent shopmates. I see the complexity in this book as a way to plan out and maximize your in-game fun. I’ll cover each major aspect of the book, with both an eye on how it changes your play, and how efficient it turns out in game. There’s plenty of awesome stuff you can tech into within these rules that might not be the most effective on the tabletop, but with knowledge about how it all comes together you can balance your own “vibes-based” efforts with how the rest of your playgroup wants to approach the campaign. I hope you have as much fun with this campaign setting as I have been, so without further ado, let’s get to the guide.
