Welcome back to Competitive Innovations in the Mortal Realms, your weekly look at Age of Sigmar GT results from around the globeA This week we’ve only got one event again, but we’re heading to Italy this time. I genuinely enjoy it when we get to escape the Anglosphere for CI coverage – it’s cool to see what they might be doing differently than the rest of us. So let’s get right to it.

Thoughts
This is not the kind of list Lumineth want to see. An army that is hoping to do a ton of mortal wounds as the main focus of damage, a 5+ Ward can put quite a damper on that. Bloab especially is one of the few wizards who can stand up to Lumineth, being +1 to cast for himself and -1 for other wizards in a rather generous 14″ aura.
The lack of ranged options you usually see in Lumineth lists is not helped here, with the main hammers of 15 Bladelords and the Krondspine being melee only the other two Maggoth lords and the Glottkin can keep them well in check. This ends in a crushing 20-0 for Nurgle.

Thoughts
It’s nice to see a Maggoth list again, and with the Glottkin. The Glottkin has shown up in more lists since the price brought it down, and it’s easy to see why. It can lock down a section of the board pretty well, and while it’s slow, evading a skilled Glottkin player can be very difficult with judicious use of Blightkrieg.
The three Maggoth Lords make excellent support. Bloab is a solid caster in his own right, with his +1 (and -1 to enemy Wizards) while the other 2 are solid tanks that can suffice as a decent hammer. The remaining Plaguebearers make a solid buffer and objective holder, assuring you only meet combat when you really want to, with Sloppity playing his no Pile-In song to keep enemies at bay until the time is right.

Big WAAAGH! good stuff
Thoughts
Not really any surprises here, just good old Orruk stuff. You got your mandatory Wurrgog Prophet for unleashing mortal wounds with the mask, Gobbsprakk as one of the best casters (and anti-magic) in the faction and a Weirdnob Shaman to give them a teleport.
The Warchanter and Megaboss take a much more direct approach of buffing the Brutes, Ragerz and Gore-Gruntas before they charge in while the Gutrippaz and “Free” Hobgrott battleline help round off the list with the mandatory battleline.
About the only unusual thing is lack of Boltboyz from Kruleboyz, this list is all melee which one might argue is what Orruks want.

Wrap Up
Another week down, but the Battlescroll is definitely coming this week to shake things up. While next week’s tournaments probably won’t be using it, it wont be long before we see the direct impacts on play. So stay tuned until then!
