Drukhari Knifey-Spooney

Thoughts

A triumph for my favourites, the Drukhari, and a really cool list that says ‘yes’ to stabbing people repeatedly, ideally from behind. Drazhar and three Archons means you can have multiple Incubi murder bricks AND a fully operational Court of the Archon, as Scourge plink away at range. Drukhari are quietly growing into the meta at present, and I am very curious to see if they can keep it up… I think they can… Very well done on the top placing!

Wolf Jail

Thoughts

Awooo!!! Another victory for the Storm Lance Space Wolves, with loads of cavalry, plenty of small trade pieces, and cheap Fenrisian Wolf units for screening, blocking and job doing. Going forwards Space Wolves have genuine choices, with their suite of units working well in the revitalised Space Wolf detachment. Will it be enough to sway people away from the sugary highs of army wide advance and charge though? Time will tell! Congratulations on the top placing.

Ad Mech Mission Horde

Thoughts

Ad Mech are about to undergo a serious rework, as the new toys they got come into play. In the meantime this list reminds us what could and did already work for them – loads of bodies, some good solid Breacher shooting, and transport / primary denial shenanigans in Hunt Cohort. A really strong showing with one of the games lesser seen (for now) factions, great work.

War Horde Kill Rigs

Thoughts

You don’t see Kill Rigs out as much these days, but this list highlights the power of big chewy transports with lots of angry lads in them. Plenty of output and reach on the Waaagh turn here, and the suite of tools in War Horde remains excellent. I think the damage is more consistent here in any of the other detachments which is only going to boost the appeal of Ork players looking for direction after the slate. Watch this space! Really well done on the top showing.

The Best of the Rest

There were 6 more players on 4-1 records. They were:

  • 5th – David Trueman – Dark Angels (Ironstorm Spearhead): Ironstorm Dark Angels with plenty of tanks.
  • 6th – Nick Argent – World Eaters: Lord of Skulls, Angron, loads of Eightbound and some Spawn. Epic.
  • 7th – Nathan Bleakley – Orks (Green Tide): Green Tide Boyz spam with a brick of Flash Gitz for space control.
  • 8th – Ben Roughan – Chaos Knights: Massed War Dogs and Rotigus.
  • 9th – Jacob Warn – Genestealer Cult (Index): Old school drop GSC in the index detachment with some laser Ridge Runners in support.

Green Tide MORKANAUT

Thoughts

Ok, a very funny Green Tide list here that jams additional Boyz into a Battlewagon and Morkanaut. The benefit of this is you can actually deploy a lot more on the board without having quite as large a footprint, and you get some extra reach for heading onto the objectives. Green Tide is about to take some hits but it has incredible primary play and can simply drown a lot of lists- will it be able to keep up in Pariah? Really well done on the event win.

The Best of the Rest

There were 7 more players on 4-1 records. They were:

  • 2nd – Guillaume Botbol – Thousand Sons (Cult of Magic): Tsons goodstuff from faction specialist Guillaume. Well done buddy.

  • 5th – Zach Starcher – Chaos Space Marines (Renegade Raiders): Renegade Raiders infantry with Forgefiends and Vindicators.
  • 6th – Adrian James – Imperial Knights: Canis, two Knight Cerastus, and some Armigers.
  • 7th – Ed Smith – Death Guard: Plague Marines in Rhinos with Vehicle support.
  • 8th – Linton Rowan – World Eaters: 30 World Eaters Terminators and character support.

Thoughts

AWOOO! The Space Wolves keep on rolling. Thunderwolves, MSU, and Logan Grimnar to give some second wind energy to the whole murder train as it gets stuck in. They’ve been an army to beat this quarter – can they maintain the momentum in Pariah?! Well done on the event win!

The Best of the Rest

There were 6 more players on 4-1 records. They were:

  • 2nd – Richard Cozart – Astra Militarum (Combined Regiment): Russ heavy guard- lovely to see Nork Deddog getting a run out…
  • 3rd – Steve Goodrich – Orks (War Horde): Nob death bricks in this punchy mechanised War Horde list.
  • 4th – William Harvey – Aeldari (Battle Host): Fire Prisms and a big brick of Warp Spiders.
  • 5th – Zac Fulmer – Chaos Space Marines (Renegade Raiders): Triple Vindicator / MSU Renegade Raiders.
  • 6th – Jorge Aranda – Black Templars (Firestorm Assault Force): Firestorm Templars with loads of Eradicators and Inceptors.
  • 7th – Connor Kramarczuk – Adeptus Custodes (Talons of the Emperor): Double Caladius and massed golden infantry.

Guard Mixed Arms

Thoughts

We are seeing some promising signs that Astra Militarum can build away from artillery and still thrive, which bodes well for the meta to come. Loads of tech pieces here, with a precision drop unit of Scions, a counter charge Rough Riders squad, and a solitary Basilisk to slow things down. Plenty of mission play and target removal on top makes this a really strong little build! Very well done on the event win.

The Best of the Rest

There were 5 more players on 4-1 records. They were:

  • 2nd – Tom Egge – Space Marines (Astartes) (Firestorm Assault Force): Proper Salamanders Firestorm with Vulkan and two Redeemers, amazing.
  • 3rd – Dustin Brown – Space Wolves (Stormlance Task Force): Wolf Jailllll.
  • 4th – Chris Dailey – Astra Militarum (Combined Regiment): Double Rogal Dorn guard.
  • 5th – Mark Perry – Chaos Space Marines (Pactbound Zealots): Triple Accursed bricks in Pactbound, very spicy indeed…
  • 6th – Patrick Cunningham – Grey Knights: Triple Librarian / Dreadknight GK.

Silent King / Monolith Hypercrypt

Thoughts

The Silent King / triple Monolith HC build is a rarely seen but terrifying list. Jumping Monoliths about whilst souping up their shooting via the SK’s ignore modifier buff is no joke, and this can pick the opponent apart brutally at range. Necrons have interesting changes to navigate going forwards, but the raw output in this list shouldn’t be changing too much… Really well done on the event win!

The Best of the Rest

There were 3 more players on 4-1 records. They were:

  • 2nd – Sylvere Jandel – Grey Knights (Teleport Strike Force): A brick of Terminators and Purifiers with MSU support.
  • 3rd – Charles Thoss – Chaos Space Marines (Renegade Raiders): Abaddon leads a big Chosen brick amidst Renegade Raiders MSU antics.
  • 4th – Maxim Predtechenskiy – Black Templars (Righteous Crusaders): Righteous Crusaders with a tonne of… well, Crusaders!

Wrap Up

That’s it for this week folks! Meta that was continues to gently phase out, so get ready for  a few bumper weeks of Pariah Nexus as the new rules begin to filter in. I cannot wait, it’s going to be wild!

Lowest of Men, out.
