Hammer of Math: Riptide Arithmetic

Last week we looked over a few considerations for T'au forces including the efficacy of Drones and Saviour Protocols, what scenarios it was preferable to use the Automated Targeting System, which weapon was preferable for the XV88 Broadside, and...

Hammer of Math: T’au C’alc’ulations

And now for something completely different. In a meta completely dominated by Space Marines, T'au continue to have a solid showing and repeatedly place in the Top 4 of major events. Why is this? Part of it is that...

Hammer of Math: Diet Smite (Chaos Edition)

This week we're wrapping up Smitechat by covering the Ruinous Powers... just in time for Psychic Awakening 2 to drop in a week or two. This article is a continuation of our discussion on the math behind psychic powers...

Hammer of Math: Diet Smite (Xenos Edition)

After taking a break to discuss Pointy-Eared Exarchs and Flying Warrior Monks with Oversized Hammers, this week Hammer of Math returns to the domain of the mind to discuss the Smite power. This article is a continuation of our...

Hammer of Math: Smash Captain THUNDERDOME

We take a break from space elves and mental gymnastics to focus on something everyone can appreciate; gene-crafted superhuman warriors smashing things with heavy objects. With the release of the Salamanders and Imperial Fists supplements, we've (theoretically) reached a...

Hammer of Math: Pointy-Eared Exarch Extravaganza

About Me

Resident math nerd, printing tech priest, and overall giant human. Kevin's been playing 40k since 2nd edition, back when everyone could bring a Vortex Grenade and you could murder an entire Imperial Guard army before Turn 1. He spends more time thinking about army composition and mathhammer than actually playing. He's a moderately good — but extremely lazy — painter who loves kitbashing and using 3D printing to make new bits. Kevin is the primary author of the “Hammer of Math” regular series on Goonhammer, which updates every Monday.
