Administratum Updates August 23, 2024: Codex Orks Is Finally In

Pardon our dust – it’s been a while since we’ve written a proper update post for Administratum, but it finally occurred to us that it’s hard to see when things are added if we don’t. So, we’re excited to announce that this week we’ve officially launched support for Crusade rules in Codex: Orks.

As you can see, all of the rules are in there – you’ll pick a Waaagh! Boss for your army, accrue Stompin’ Points as you win games, suffer Orky Ructions as you lose them, score teef to build legendary characters, and get Dok’s orders when you accrue battle scars. As you score Stompin’ Points your Waagh will progress to further stages, and Administratum will track where you’re at and the bonuses you’re due, as well as the modifier for Orky Ructions.

And if you need to make manual adjustments to your Waaagh! you can do that too:

To enable this, just hop into your roster, click on the SETTINGS tab, and navigate to add-ons, where you can pick which add-ons you want active.

If it felt like it took forever for us to get this update out well, it took longer than we’d have liked. A mix of real life interruptions and the fact that this was one of the most complicated codexes to-date really held this one up, and we’re glad to be moving on to Custodes next. That one figures to be a lot less complicated.

Performance Improvements

In terms of things you’ll notice but won’t see, we’ve made a ton of backend performance improvements to Administratum, making things faster on the Battle Report screen (especially for lower end hardware), updating the Campaign section on the roster dashboard to use the same UI as the Campaigns page, making it easier to leave a campaign and/or just remove your roster from a campaign, and finally fixing the Deselect All units button.

Other Updates You Might Have Missed

We haven’t done a post since April, so it occurs to me you might have missed a few others. Here are a few other Codexes we’ve added support for since then:

Codex: Tyranids

Create worlds, then devour them. Accumulate biomass and grow your invasion, increasing the size and might of your swarm.

Codex: T’au Empire

Generate a star system with 4, 6, or 8 planets, create natures for those planets (with built-in randomization features!), and then conquer them using a mix of fighting and fighting-based diplomacy.

What’s Next?

What’s Next? Well, that’s a ton of work so far this year but we’re pretty far behind on the Codex Schedule. Up next is Custodes, and after that we’ll tackle Chaos Space Marines, Adepta Sororitas, and Genestealer Cults before tackling Imperial Agents. And somewhere in there we’re going to make time for Path go Glory, we swear.

In the meantime, if you want access to all this, you can get it by becoming a Goonhammer Patron – add-ons are open to $5 patrons or to the players participating in campaigns run by $10+ patrons. Plus you get a ton of other great stuff, like early access to videos, ad-free site browsing, access to our Discord, and the eternal gratitude of some people who work very hard to make this all go. So head on over to Patreon to support us.
